What is Procalsol?

The national programme to promote the use of solar collectors (Procalsol) is an initiative of the National Commission for Energy Efficiency (CONUEE, through November 2008 National Commission for Energy Savings - Conae) in collaboration with the National Solar Energy Association (ANES) and the German Technical Cooperation Agency (GTZ, for its acronym in German), to design and implement a program to support actions in Mexico are developed to promote and expand the use solar heaters

Program objectives

        Promote the use of solar energy for water heating

        To ensure market growth of solar heating is carried out with a level of quality

        Encourage the development of domestic solar water heaters industry (manufacturers, system builders, distributors and installers of equipment)

        To promote the technology developed by national research centers.

The application fields of solar water heating, considered by the program are:

       Housing

       Business and Industry

       Agribusiness

Overall goal

By 2012, 1.8 million m² of collectors should be newly installed in Mexico
